Local activist, writer, and attorney, Tristan R. Brown has announced he is running for the office of Peabody City Councilor – at Large. In these chaotic times, Peabody needs solid principled leadership. Now is not the time for politics as usual.

Growing up in a working-class family, Tristan has an intimate understanding of how rigged the system is against poor and working people. What’s more, he knows that local government can be a positive tool to help those in need. When working people can get ahead, everyone succeeds.

Tristan has lived all over the Commonwealth. He grew up in the village of Assonet in south eastern Massachusetts, splitting his weekends between his mom and his dad’s family in Holyoke. He lived in western Mass for several years before moving to Boston in 2008. He fell in love with a Peabody girl – his college sweetheart – and moved here in 2013. He ended up marrying her and had four kids in the Peabody Public Schools.

The Brown Campaign is going to be focused on key areas of municipal government: public safety, public health, public education, and housing. Signatures polices include reducing traffic congestion and making Peabody a walking city; protecting all undeveloped land in Peabody from further development; finding new funding sources for our public schools and giving public school employees a raise; and proposing the creation of a George Peabody Development District to increase multi-family housing.

Tristan is a graduate of UMass Amherst and has a law degree from New England Law | Boston.
