Public Education
Public education has a long history in New England. We understand how education and industriousness lead to a greater chance for success. Therefore, it is important Peabody expand its support for public education, especially with the end of the U.S. Department of Education.

The fact is, our schools need more funding. So long as a single teacher has to buy a single box of tissues with their own money, school are not being funded appropriately. While there are many improvements that could and must be made, I believe the most efficient way to improve the quality of the education provided to our children is to raise the pay for public school employees. That is why I advocate for finding new revenue streams and for increased funding for our schools and higher wages for those who serve our community in the public schools

In addition to higher wages, increased funding must also support increased public bussing for public school students. The pickup and drop-off schedule of our schools can be difficult for working folks to accommodate. I don't know how I could have managed it were it not for the help of my in-laws. Not to mention the terrible traffic that results. I will fight for Peabody to increase public bussing for public school children to help our students and alleviate traffic.
